DUET Debating Society

Vision:  To create a generation of rational, articulate, and responsible leaders through the culture of debate and intellectual inquiry.

Mission:  To develop critical thinking, communication skills, and ethical reasoning among DUET students by providing a structured platform for debate, dialogue, and intellectual growth.

Core Activities of DDS

• Weekly Debate Practice Session – Regular training debates for skill development.
• Weekly Debate Workshop – Structured training on argumentation, logic, and style.
• Open Speech Competition – To develop confidence and public speaking skills.
• Regular Study Circle (পাঠচক্র) – For intellectual discussion on philosophy, society, culture, and ideas.
• Freshers’ Debate Competition – To discover and nurture new talents.
• Inter-Department Debate Competition – To promote debating culture across the campus.
• National Debate Festival – To represent DUET at the national intellectual stage.
• Special Seminars & Training Sessions – On logic, communication, leadership, and critical thinking.
• Internal Tournaments & Mock Debates – For competitive preparation. 10. Special Intellectual Events – Panel discussions, public forums, thematic debates, etc.
