Climate Change & Sustainable Policy

Sustainability/Climate Policy

Dhaka University of Engineering and Technology (DUET), Gazipur, sincerely aims to set a university strategy following the Climate and Sustainability Action Plan 2030 (CSAP). Our university wants to comprise CSAP strategies and action plans, incorporating the climate-related challenges and opportunities to contribute to sustainability.

A focused collaboration with the faculty members, students, professionals, and service employees is essential to DUET's sustainability and climate policy endeavor. All stakeholders continuously share and monitor their insights into the direction and content of our strategy, ensuring that our work is sufficiently ambitious and up to the task of addressing the climate emergency. By building on our institutional strengths, we want to become one of Banladesh’s most sustainable research-intensive institutions.

  • To foster a culture of sustainability with social justice
  • To establish goals by 2025 for a wide range of indirect emission sources (Scope 3).
  • To reduce greenhouse gas emissions from purchased electricity (Scope 2) to net zero by 2025.
  • To eliminate campus emissions (Scope 1) by 2050.

We have initiated solar panels and have private use of solar panels in the university. Students and teachers have several research grant programs to promote and improve the solar system.
