Founded in 1980, the Department of Humanities & Social Sciences in Dhaka Engineering College strives to fulfill two objectives; one, to sensitize students to broader ethical economic, linguistic, communicative, social and human issues and values, and two, to make available facilities for higher education, research and development.
Through its focus on teaching and learning, the department attempts to encourage personal growth and opportunity. Its numerous resources and hard working faculty provide an opportunity for students to open a window to the versatile challenges of the present world. Its emphasis on multidisciplinary teaching added further remedies to its students to become more dynamic in their professional arena.
